Brittany Baldi - Media and TV Personality
We all have that friend that says they are going to be a sports announcer and on TV, however most of them don't do anything they say! We are blessed enough to know Brittany Baldi an entrepreneur, tv and media host, model and one of the greatest and energetic people around.
Brittany has been a dear friend and have lost track on how long it has been. She always said she wanted to be on TV especially is sports media (probably one of the biggest Boston super fans we know!).
We are proud to feature our dear friend Brittany and her story! Be sure to check out her site http://brittanybaldi.com and follow her on her social media @brittanybaldi !
Tell us a little about yourself, your brand/company and how it started?
Hey ya'll thanks for the sweet feature! My name is Brittany. I grew up in the Boston area and went to college in the city. My career started early. I was a junior in college when I ventured into print and promotional modeling. Landing gigs in magazines, books, and lots of live events (I still do live events on the occasion).
After college I spent a few years appearing on popular reality tv shows competing on a variety of fun yet sporty TV shows. I learned a lot about myself, grew a ton, and learned my love for being in front of the camera in those years.
Shortly after I began my TV broadcasting career. It has been a steady yet challenging climb. I have done everything from Co-hosting and Co-producing my own segments on NESN to currently working behind the scenes at former NBC Channel 7 Boston.
Next step. Sports and Entertainment broadcasting full time is my long-term goal. I love anything exciting and adventurous!
What advice can you give for starting your own business or turning your passion into a career?
My best advice for anyone starting their own business is to do be yourself and be true to who you are. Follow your natural talents and turn them into gold. It feels right do it. Also ask tons of questions to those that have already started their own business or are in your current field... You can never ask for enough advice. Also, at the start do not stress about finances right away, you won’t become a millionaire overnight chasing your own dreams... but you will be setting up the foundation for your future.
What drives/motivates/inspires you?
What drives me? Those around me. I have a lot of great people in my life to thank for constantly pushing me. My dad is my number 1 fan and biggest supporter, he has been since I was a kid. My own self will also motivates me. I have always been the type to “go against the grain” and not follow rules when it comes to “9-5 jobs” and the basic idea that you must go to college, have kids, get married right away... heck no. I spent my 20s having fun, traveling, being on tv... and growing. I am motivated by growth and new experiences.
What are you most proud of/ biggest accomplishment?
This is a tough question! I have done so much in such a short times span, so much to reflect on. I would say, I haven’t even reached my full potential yet...so I will leave this question to be answered in a few years once I land a gig with a major cable network.
What was biggest challenge you have faced and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenges I have faced in this industry are “how to get to the next step”. It’s not an easy career path... and if it was, everyone would be doing it. So, I accept the challenges with open arms. But yes, the biggest challenge is going “blind” and learning... figuring out how to make moves and push to the next level. I am constantly overcoming obstacles.
What is the best business advice you have received?
My best business advice I ever received has always been about my personality. To keep my “unique ways” and never conform to what people want or think I should be. I like that thought...BE ME.
What advice would you give an aspiring entrepreneur?
My advice would be to go for it. While you are young take risks, the rewards will be worth it. Why spend your life at a job working towards someone else's goals when you can be working towards your own. Be a creator.
What is your ideal working environment?
My ideal working environment has a chill vibe to it. All positive people. All self-motivated. Hard working. Creative thinkers. I do not like working in a really uptight environment with people that think “they know it all”.
What do you do in your spare time?
Spare time I love being outdoors. Sounds cliché, but I LOVE the beach and hiking in the woods. Meditation is awesome as well and reading. My new puppy is my favorite! I love spending time with my boyfriend, friends, and family as well
How do you maintain a healthy balance?
Healthy balance to me is all about finding work time and play time... but hey if you love your “job” you are having fun anyways right? That should be the ultimate goal, to love what you do daily. As far as foods. I eat healthy often but yes I do eat sweets and treats!
Thank you Brittany for sharing your story. We couldn't be more proud of you and hope you we inspire one person to chase their dreams like you did!
